Abstract

In this paper the steady state electric circuit of the DFIG is developed, deriving the steady state model electric equations along with its physics. By means of these model equations, Matlab m-file for steady state calculations is developed. The modes of operation of the machine for different rotor speeds are presented and analyzed. Finally, based also on the Matlab calculations, a detailed performance evaluation of the DFIG is carried out, developing steady state performance curves that can reveal current, voltage, power balance, power losses, depending on the specific operating mode of the machine.
