In the current investigation, nickel oxide nanoparticles (NiO-NPs) were prepared from Helianthus annuus seed husk extract via the green route. The title nanoparticle was examined using SEM-EDX analysis, IR spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction, and UV-visible spectroscopy. They were employed in batch adsorption tests to remove study ions under multiple variables, including the initial ion concentration, pH, impact time, and amount of adsorbent. The results indicated that Freundlich isotherm and the second-order rate model were better suited to the experimental data. The R2 coefficients acquired through the pseudo-second-order are 0.820, 0.998, and 1, herein in the Freundlich model are 0.916, 0.997, and 0.995 for each of the lead, cadimium, and cooper ions, respectively. Meanwhile, under ideal circumstances, getting rid rates were found to be 99.94%,99.73%, and 97.52% over the ions Cu, Cd, and Pb, respectively. As a result, these synthesized nanoparticles may be a suitable option for efficiently removing harmful metals from wastewater via adsorption.
